A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS

Updated: Sep 15, 2020

Hi my dear pupils!...you would be my dearest if you worked everyday though.

How was yesterday's revision? Since a picture is worth a thousand words I'll add to that a grammar presentation! You're welcome!

1. Revise the use of present perfect as opposed to past simple:

2. This is something you can do with your mates through Whatsapp or you can either ask your family. Fill in the chart with extra information, you need to say more than yes or not.. Use present perfect or past simple when needed.

Talking about pictures, do you know what Alzheimer is?

3. Look at the following picture and answer the questions in your notebook:

  • What do you see?

  • What words come to your mind?

  • What emotions?

  • Are they the same person? .

It shows eight paintings of the same man. They are self-portraits of a man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease; eight years of a man slowly disappearing until the year he forgot to send a picture and himself.

4. How do these portraits represent the evolution of the disease? Answer this question in your notebook. Explain.

5. Pictures can visualize concepts, issues, and emotions without being literal. Browse the net and find 5 pictures that represent your state of mind. For example, what feeling do you think this picture represents? There is more than one possible answer.

You're done! Good job!
