What will you do when you turn 20? ...
Well, this guy has already turned 20! You were not even born when it was inaugurated...
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the London Eye. It was originally planned to remain for just five years, but its success has meant that it has stayed in central London since the millennium. The wheel was designed by architects Julia and David Marks Barfield. It took seven years and the skills of hundreds of people from five different countries to make the London Eye a reality.
It is a central part of the book you are currently reading so it would be a good idea that you knew a little more about it.
1. Watch the video twice and draw a T-chart, first write the key ideas on the left and then the details on the right:
2. Read chapters 17 & 18 from The London Eye Mystery. Listen to Diego while reading, the more skills you engage in reading the better. Write the new words in your glossary and check their pronunciation. Then, write a summary of both chapters.
