You must be giving the final touch to your projects. How are they going? Please, check that you are following instructions, in case you doubt, ask before handing them out. Today, I include useful information about the structure and vocabulary you may use.
Compare and Contrast basic structure
FIRST THING YOU NEED TO CONSIDER:
What are you comparing? Authors or their memoirs?
...It is both things what you need to compare...
There were aspects of their life that had a strong influence in their work...that's why you have to include both things. But you need to focus, so once you have explained their points in common , I asked you to choose one of them and go deeper into it.
Follow this structure:
INTRODUCTION: You have to write an overall view of what you will talk about. Say what the three authors/ works have in common. Example: Do the authors have the same age? How does this influence their view? Were their writings aimed at the same audience? Was the historical context the same for all of them? Say you will focus on one of the works and what aspects about it you will deal with.
BODY: Three or four main ideas. Don't add unnecessary details or make an excessive use of pictures. If you include them you must explain why you do so. These ideas, visual aids must support your thesis. Please, read the following article: How to write a good thesis statement.
CONCLUSION: It summarises the key points and must link back to the title of the essay/ presentation, and mention the three literary works.
Use linkers to show the relationship between ideas. Some key phrases to compare texts:
