Giving a presentation may be terrifying, above all if you have to do it in front of a crowd. But, good news!, in this case, there won't be any crowd. However, it would be a good idea to have your audience in mind, do as if you were talking to a crowd. You will record it, so you have the opportunity to repeat it several times till you feel the result is satisfactory.

Then, it is extremely important that you nail other aspects, as content, form, volume, modulation, pronunciation... As you see, I'm giving you detailed advice because it actually matters. A "cut and paste" is NOT what I expect.

1. Focus your presentation. Having a loooong presentation that is hard to follow is not going to attract your audience's interest. You need to make sure that your presentation is clear and focused and that any idea you add is going to back up the main point. Explain the link among the different points. Example: why do you put Levy, Orwell and Frank together?

It's best to have 1 main thesis statement and 3 main points that back up your main theme. If you add more than that, your audience is going to start losing interest.

2. Don't present paragraphs! Don't read pragraphs! Present ideas, include drawings, diagrams, but don't include whole paragraphs in your presentation. It's BOOOOORING! Use your own words, although you may be following a script, you need to sound natural. Engage your audience...ME.

3. Talk slowly. One of the main errors that people make is talking too quickly. Don't get nervous or whip through their presentation. Give your audience time to think and make sense of what you have said.

4. Check pronunciation. If you talk slowly, your pronunciation must be simply perfect, otherwise mistakes will be more evident. So, check the words' pronunciation in a dictionary. For every pronunciation mistake, I will take out points.

5. Have a killer closing. The beginning and the closing of a presentation are the most important parts. Make sure that you close with a summary of the main ideas. You'll need to repeat those 3 most important points and make sure the listener knows what the point you wanted to highlight was.

Now, watch this video and make sure you are doing things well. No matter you have already finished your presentation, you still have time to correct things. As I said, it matters.

Exert yourselves!
