Hello!

Articles in English are a little tough for English language learners. Articles modify the meaning of a noun, as adjectives do.

• a dog, indefinite article (Sp un, una)

• an apple, a variation of a; you use it before words starting with a vowel sound.

• the sun, definite article (Sp el, la)

But there's the possibility of not using any articles. Example:

I love animals and NOT I love the animals

This is a very commom mistake among Spanish students because in Spanish we say:

'Me encantan los animales'
