April weather, rain and sunshine both together
(English saying)
April is my favourite month despite the rain, for obvious reasons, it is the month I was born in ;)
The origin of the word is uncertain. There are several theories though:
it comes from latin verb aperire, "to open", in allusion to its being the season when trees and flowers begin to "open"
The Anglo-Saxons called April ēastre-monaþ. The Venerable Bede says in The Reckoning of Time that this month ēastre is the root of the word Easter.
Many writers have found inspiration in this beautiful month. Shakespeare said:
"April hath put a spirit of youth in everything"
